Our most complex project for the Alta Bates campus was planning the renovation of their busy Emergency Department to double its capacity accommodating 45,000 annual patient visits. We worked with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the renovated Emergency Department would address patient satisfaction, operational efficiencies, and functional physical design, including the requirement to facilitate inter-departmental relationships with radiology, cardiology, and the laboratory. The plan also included careful construction staging so that emergency services could continue throughout the project. The design includes 25 treatment and resuscitation rooms, as well as a 10-bed Quick Care Suite and radiology room.
